Happycamper created this spot for the Californian brand Blue Diamond Almond Milk. The production for this almost complete CG spot started in the end of last year and it aired recently in early February.

Live shoot for the delicious almond milk pack took place at Halliford Studios in London.

Swiss did the visual effects consisting of a beautiful mattepainting of an Californian almond orchard and thoughtfully developed clouds to convey the message.

As usual we started out by doing an animatic that showed the client camera angles and also allowed us to play around with the length of the shots.

As soon as the animatic was approved we moved on to developing the look and feel of the clouds. The whole spot except the last two scenes are made up of a combination of matte paintings and CG elements.

TCO – The History of TCO
Happycamper was approached to create a 5-minute informative film for the Swedish union TCO. The logistics was the big challenge to this project and it needed careful planning before shooting all 35 people being connected at one time or another, representing the various professions within the union. The end result is a wonderful mosaic of different people interacting while telling the story of TCO.

We are very happy to announce that we´re joining forces with Camp David in Sweden. As the information reads on their website they like to work hard as well as play hard, and we´re looking forward to both!

60 second version.

Happycamper was awarded this project in August of 2011 and we were very excited to get the opportunity to work with a Chinese agency and client. The idea was to produce three spots, a 60 second and two 30 second variations, for their Wireless City-services.

In mid-november we finished everything and the spots aired on the 1st of December in China.

Our vision was to create a unique world of happiness and warmth by mixing physical miniatures with CG-characters.

Concept Design

We worked out the concept for all the characters with help from talented artist Vaidas Bagonas. The final models were done by Milford.

Final Characters

The displays play a vital part in all the spots. In order to make them blend in with the very analogue feeling, we gave them a clay-ish, handmade look.

Animatic

The animatic works as an animated sketch for us to show the client pacing and angles. It is very rough when it comes to characters and the animation is only blocked in. Everything to quickly be able to do adjustments.

At Happycamper we prefer to do our own animatic, since it gives us a lot of freedom. It´s a great way to be able to play around with different ideas without it taking up too much time.

The Shoot

In September we went to Bristol, UK for a five day shoot at the Bottle Yard. We filmed all the background plates including houses, trees and all other inanimate stuff. It was awesome to see the talented artists of Codsteaks work on creating all the small props. Almost like being a little kid again.

It was a truly terrific crew to work with and the catering made us never wanting to leave!

Animatic

In the animatic stage we were able to play around and test all the different ideas that we had, and also made it easy to show the client how the spot would work.

Styleframe

In the styleframe we tried out different look and styles to capture the feeling of the spot. This part also involved some technical R&D where we tried out different solutions for creating the liquid world.

The Shoot

The shoot was one long, fun and exciting day where we had the privilege to work with some really talented people. We shot everything in our “home-studio” at It´s Showtime, where we always have a great time.
